On the first Thursday of every month many of East London top art galleries and museums open their doors late until 9pm for a chance to see and invest in art after hours. With more than 100 participating galleries and museums, this is a fantastic opportunity for art lovers to see amazing art, culture and events after hours.

The Art Map will give you a full list of participating First Thursdays galleries and museums, and a guided bus tour will take you around a selection of exhibiting places, where you can join leading curators, writers, academics and artists. Recommended itineraries are available that will take you through East London back streets, shops and bars nearby, and this is definitely the place to spend the First Thursday of every month.

East London is Europe's largest cultural quarter and home to thousands of artists and over 160 galleries and First Thursdays is a major part of Late Night London campaign, which opens up London as a 24-hour city.
