“The Bells of Metohija” in Velika Hoca

The Bells Of Metohija, Velika Hoca 2009Art Colony Velika Hoca held in Velika Hoca from 6 to 12 October 2009. The exhibition was organized by Velika Hoca in cooperation with the Association of Fine Art of Serbia. This colony was named “The Bells of Metohija” since it was organized by the people who organize the auction of paintings of the same name, above all Zoran Calija, Vesna Markovic and Stanka Todorovic. The colony’s selector was Zoran Calija, a long-time friend of Velika Hoca and Orahovac, the university-educated painter and humanist. The intention was to raise money for the renovation of the Velika Hoca monastery and other Serbian churches and monasteries in Kosovo.

"Light in Watercolor" an exhibition of paintings by Dusan Djukaric, Belgrade

Historically, watercolors have received honours from all corners of the globe. The Chinese considered it as the most valuable and most difficult technique and treated both it and those who had mastered it with a deep respect. The paper used by the Chinese for watercolors is called CHEN XIN DENG, which translates to ‘entrance for clearing the mind’. And, indeed, it is really a kind of cleaning of the mind and the soul.

"Urban Records," an exhibition of paintings by Stojan Milanov, Singidunum Gallery, Belgrade, Serbia

Artist Stojan Milanov will hold an exhibition from July 28 to August 14, 2009 in Belgrade. The artist will present several dozen paintings in the oil on canvas technique. Along with the exhibition inside the gallery, Milanov will set up a stand and canvas in front, where he will paint and urge passers-by to paint something themselves.
